Does eschatology matter?
Biblical eschatology holds significant importance in the Christian faith, providing a roadmap for the future and preparing the Body of Christ to receive the long-awaited King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. However, when eschatology is distorted by human imagination and interpretation and spread like wildfire, it not only alters the character of God but also portrays Him as unjust, a murderer, biased, and partial, which contradicts His nature as revealed in Scripture. Such flawed theology causes harm and creates a misleading image of the Almighty, leading many to distance themselves from God. Some who recognize that the issue lies not with the God of the Bible but with the Church's understanding choose to leave congregations that display double standards—condemning injustice while condoning mass killings in the name of self-defense.
