My Journey: Why I Left Dispensational Theology

Between 1998 and 2000, I immersed myself in the popular "End Times" teachings of authors such as Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye, and the influential Scofield Reference Bible. Having been raised within the Plymouth Open Brethren tradition, I accepted these teachings.....commonly known as Dispensational Theology.......as biblical truth without carefully examining them in light of Scripture, church history, or alternative theological perspectives.

As I continued to study the Bible more deeply, I began to discover serious weaknesses in this system. I found that many of its prophetic claims relied more on speculation, newspaper headlines, and modern geopolitical events than on the clear teaching of Scripture. What I once accepted as biblical certainty increasingly appeared to be built upon assumptions that could not withstand careful examination.

Over time, I became convinced that Dispensationalism is one of the most influential theological innovations to emerge after the Protestant Reformation. While many sincere Christians hold these views, I believe this system has contributed to widespread confusion about God's purposes, the nature of Christ's kingdom, the identity of God's people, and the interpretation of biblical prophecy.

My perspective on Israel, prophecy, and the end times changed dramatically as I came to see that the Bible's promises find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ rather than in ethnic identity, political movements, or modern nation-states. This shift compelled me to re-evaluate many assumptions I had previously taken for granted.

The purpose of this website is not to attack individuals, denominations, or sincere believers. Rather, it is to encourage Christians to return to Scripture itself, to test every doctrine carefully, and to examine whether popular prophetic teachings truly reflect the message of Christ and the apostles.

The seven Bible questions presented here are designed to challenge assumptions, encourage thoughtful study, and help readers discover what Scripture actually teaches about Israel, the Church, and the end times. My prayer is that these studies will lead believers away from fear-driven speculation and toward a deeper understanding of Christ, His Kingdom, and His call to justice, mercy, truth, and reconciliation.
