In the following video, a disturbing scene caught my attention. An Indian man working in Israel as a laborer managed to enter a gathering of Orthodox Jews. Wanting to win their favor, he knelt and prostrated himself before them — a gesture that reflects a deeply troubling tendency in many cultures, including among Indians: the willingness to flatter, please, and even worship others for blessing. What followed was one of the Orthodox Jews kicked at his butt (I need to remove this part, but one can notice it subtly, — rejecting this act of human worship. It was humiliating, yet oddly justifiable, for even the Orthodox Jew could not tolerate being worshiped.
This scene reminded me of what happened in Acts 14, when the people of Lystra began worshiping Paul and Barnabas after witnessing a miracle. But instead of accepting their praise, the apostles tore their clothes and shouted, “Why are you doing this? We, too, are only human, like you!” Acts 14:14-15. They directed all glory to the living God, not to themselves. Even these men of God knew better than to allow such idolatry.

We see many modern Christians doing something very similar — not to an individual, but to an ungodly nation. Songs are sung for Israel inside churches. Israeli flags are waved during worship. Money is raised to fund the construction of a Third Temple. Support is blindly given to wars and violence under the banner of prophecy fulfilment. But what has been the response? Videos continue to surface of Christians being mocked, insulted, and rejected by the very people they idolize. Some are even openly called “isolationist idolaters.”

Jesus never called us to exalt a nation. He came to call both Jew and Gentile into one body — His Church. He came to break down the dividing wall and unite people under one name, not to fuel nationalistic fervor or prophetic speculation that varies wildly between denominations. Instead of being the salt and light to the world, many believers have been swept into the flood of misguided Zionism, chasing after signs and shadows while forgetting the One who fulfilled them.
It’s time to return to the simple, powerful calling of the gospel. Let us prepare ourselves for Christ’s glorious return — not by exalting a nation that refuses to honor God or His Son, but by walking in holiness, preaching the truth, and loving all people as Christ did.

The Church must wake up. Our allegiance is not to any earthly nation but to the Kingdom of God. Let us no longer seek the favor of man — whether Jew or Gentile — but seek only to please our Lord and Savior. Worship Him alone, serve Him alone, and glorify Him alone.
